Ombudsman Coordinators

The Ombudsman Coordinator serves as an advisor/consultant to local ombudsmen, the ombudsmen assembly and to commands. The Ombudsman Coordinator 2008 Desk Guide provides guidance for this very important Fleet and Family Support Center position.

Ombudsman Coordinators are encouraged to reach out to new ombudsmen, providing support and information to them, as well as to their commanding officers. It is the responsibility of the commanding officers to ensure that all ombudsmen are registered in the Ombudsman Registry, but Ombudsman Coordinators have the means to assist with this and any questions that arise about the command’s Ombudsman Program.

Ombudsman Coordinators’ Town Hall Meeting
Most conferences and symposiums have been put on hold until further notice. As a means of sharing information, CNIC HQ will host Town Hall Meetings for Ombudsman Coordinators and Certified Ombudsman Trainers (COTs) beginning in April 2012 with the Ombudsman Coordinators. The COT Town Hall Meeting will follow in up-coming months. Schedules will be posted with the Ombudsman Program Webinar Schedules on the FFSP web site and can be accessed via the Learning Management System (LMS). Topics will include program updates, roles and responsibilities and will include a chance for you to ask your questions.

Ombudsman Program Advisory Group (OPAG)

The OPAG meets several times a year to discuss issues identified by Regional Ombudsman Advisory Board (ROAB) meetings and to discuss policy, special projects and curriculum development for the Ombudsman Program.
