Operations and Management
Navy Region Europe, Africa, Southwest Asia is in charge of managing six installations and coordinating base operating support functions for forces throughout the region.
These support functions include: Air Operations, Port Operations, Weapons Handling, Logistics, Security and Safety.
Air Operations: airfields, air traffic control, air terminal support, and additional support necessary for aircraft to operate.
Port Operations: piers, tugs and additional support for facilitation of ship visits.
Weapons Handling: storage, replenishment, loading.
Logistics: everything from food to fuel flows through the base to support and provision the operational forces.
Security and Safety: fire and emergency services, base police, emergency management.
