  The Naval Base Guam (NBG) Environmental Division ensures Navy's ability to
sustain installations and operational readiness through compliance with
environmental laws/regulations. The Environmental Division consists of two
branches.

 

The Environmental Compliance Branch that ensures Naval Base Guam meets or
exceeds all environmental compliance requirements for the environmental
media areas of drinking water, waste water, air quality, solid waste,
hazardous waste disposal, and ensures all required permits are acquired and
the conditions of the permits are met. 

 

The Environmental Planning and Conservation Branch that establishes and
implements proper environmental planning and conservation procedures for all
federal actions on NBG to ensure requirements of both Federal and local
resource agencies are met and ensure the overall protection of Natural and
Cultural assets on NBG are protected.  are followed to protect cultural and
natural resources.

 

Environmental services are accomplished via Naval Facilities Engineering
Command Marianas with compliance oversight and liaison support provided by
the NBG EV Division.  Environmental Services include such things collection,
transportation, and disposal of hazardous waste; conduct spill response and
clean-up; perform lead based paint and asbestos abatement in facilities;
provide proper disposition of waste water, industrial waste, oily waste,
waste oil, and other substances that are harmful to the environment.
