VFC-13: MiG role player for COMPTUEX

The “Fighting Saints” of Fighter Squadron Composite (VFC) 13 are currently supporting the Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group’s Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) from the NAS Jacksonville flight line. COMPTUEX is a series of graded exercise scenarios intended to evaluate and prepare the strike group for its upcoming deployment.

Cultural resources management plan recognized

NAS Jacksonville was recognized by the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission for the NAS Jax and Rodman Bombing Range Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan during a ceremony May 3 at the Jacksonville Main Library.

NAS Jax hosts annual Recreational Safety Rodeo

Hundreds of Sailors and civilian employees turned out for the sixth annual NAS Jacksonville Recreational Safety Rodeo May 8 at the base commissary parking lot. The event showcased the latest safety information related to motorcycles, bicycling, ATVs, boating, personal watercraft, and other recreational activities.

Pinecastle Range Complex Training Schedule
Navy training schedules indicate that live bombing will take place for intermittent periods of time at the Pinecastle Range Complex in the Ocala National Forest within the following days and times:
May 22 - Noon to 1 p.m.
May 23 - Noon to 1 p.m.
May 24 - Noon to 1 p.m.
The telephone number for noise complaints is 1-800-874-5059 at Fleet Area Control and Surveillance Facility Jacksonville. 

USS Eisenhower Composite Training Unit Exercise

Carrier wing training operations are being conducted in the Jacksonville op area until May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily.

Pass & ID new hours

The Pass & ID office at the main gate now has new hours. Decals and badges will be issued the following days and times:

Monday through Thursday – 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fridays – 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday/Sunday – 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

One-day passes will be issued when the Pass & ID office is not open. Renewal of decals can be done 30 days in advance online at https://www.pid.cnic.navy.mil.

Military personnel and government employees are reminded that there is a $20 rule on accepting gifts from any organization, agency or person. You may accept gifts given because of your military status only if they are $20 or less per source, per occasion and a maximum of $50 per source, per year. Accepting widely available discounts available to the general public or to all government and military personnel is permitted. For example, you are authorized to accept a "military discount for 20% off."

The NAS Jacksonville USO office offers a wide variety of services, tickets and free events to military members and their families. Call (904) 778-2821. The USO Airport Welcome Center is located at the Jacksonville International Airport. Services include information, referrals, transportation assistance, refreshments, TV, movies and Internet access.
