Naval Support Activity Washington encompasses the Washington Navy Yard which is the oldest military installation in the U.S., Naval Support Facility (NSF) Naval Research Laboratory, NSF Suitland, NSF Naval Observatory, NSF Potomac Annex, NSF Arlington and NSF Carderock. Located in the Nation's Capital, the seven installations host many Navy headquarters commands including Commander, Navy Installations Command and Naval District Washington headquarters.

This will to prepare is the goal of Solid Curtain/Citadel Shield (SC/CS) 2012, which will take place next week. Naval District Washington (NDW) has begun reaching out to the community in preparation for the exercise.
