Navy Band Northeast
Lieutenant Scott Mythen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in
music from the University of Minnesota, and a master’s degree in human
relations from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy,
LT Mythen worked as a band director and English teacher in Lake County,
Florida from 1994-1996. He has served as a trumpet instrumentalist with
Navy Band Great Lakes, the Seventh Fleet Band, the Sixth Fleet Band,
and the Naval Forces Europe Band.
LT Mythen is a graduate of the Navy School of Music's Basic Music,
Unit Leader and Senior Musician courses. Commissioned as a Navy
Bandmaster in 2007, he served as the Assistant Director of the Naval
Academy Band until transferring to his current position as Director,
Navy Band Northeast.
