NAS Patuxent River Mission
NAS Patuxent River’s mission is to support the Navy by providing the warfighter with technologies that deliver dominant combat effects and matchless capabilities. Our tenant commands provide effective and affordable integrated warfare systems and life cycle support through research, development, testing and evaluation (also known as RDT&E), acquisition, engineering and fleet support for manned and unmanned aircraft, engines, avionics, aircraft support systems and ship/shore/air operations.
NAS Patuxent River reports to Naval District Washington for shore installation management. Navy Installations Command, as part of the Chief of Naval Operations goal for sustainment of combat readiness through effective and efficient shore station installation management and support.
