Welcome to NAS Sigonella Base Education & Training Department!
Mission Statement:
To provide a strong, quality training program that promotes professional and personal development of all Naval Station Sigonella personnel; laying the groundwork for advancement, promotion, and providing the foundation for building Navy leaders.
Base Education and Training Department has taken the lead on establishing initiatives to help sailors improve on advancement exam scores. An exam preparatory-class providing test taking skills and exam checklists is offered each week; lunch-time study groups have been established, Professional Military Knowledge lunch group meets weekly with lunch provided by MWR. Advertising campaigns provide a constant reminder for sailors to study. Base Training established a “Road Maps to Success” program that provides a study plan for each rate assigned to Sigonella. The program is a web-based program attached to the NAS Sigonella home page and provides sailors with a six-month study plan with links to bibliographies, Professional Military Knowledge study sections and In-rate training manuals. A new initiative is in place allowing Sailors to reach this vital website from their home computer, through podcasts, brochure type study sheets, formulation of rate study groups. Since undertaking this initiative, advancement scores have steadily improved over the last four cycles and recently exceeded the regions advancement percentages.
Pearson Vue test center, Base Education and Training continues to lead the way in providing Computer Based Training, obtaining certifications, obtaining Navy COOL certifications for professional and personal development.

READINESS/REQUIREMENTS
Installation Training Team: Meeting and exceeding CNIC and CNRE goals and responsibilities to prepare Sigonella and the community for any type of disaster. Through aggressive and continual training, the command is prepared to respond to events that could possibly disrupt routine daily activities.
