The NAS JRB Environmental Department is located in Building 501. The Director and the Assistant Director work out of this site to ensure full environmental support and services to all base departments and tenant commands at both NAS JRB and NSA New Orleans. This includes oversight of a wide range of environmental programs including:

- Hazardous and Solid Waste (678-3097)
- Spill Response, Natural Resources and Recycling (678-3856)
