Emergency Management
Emergency Management
The Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) program was created after the 2005 hurricane season to ensure that all Navy Families affected by hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma received assistance in order to return to a stable and independent condition. EFAC case manager has since developed the tools and structure that can be rapidly deployed in the event of future catastrophic events.
At the FFSC, an EFAC/NFAAS case manager is available to:
o Perform outreach and provide resources on disaster preparedness
o Match the needs of each affected Navy Family member with community and military resources in the event of a disaster
o Function as the primary representative and advocate for Navy Family members regarding process and policy issues
EFAC provides this assistance with the goal of offering families the opportunity to achieve self-sufficiency after a disaster.
