Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka Warning
Hakone Owakudani Volcano Warning

The Japanese Meteorological Agency has raised the volcano eruption warning on Mount Hakone to Level 3. There is no impact to Yokosuka, Zushi, Yokohama, or other areas under the control of Fleet Activities Yokosuka. For those traveling this weekend or in the near future, please take special note of the information below.

Entrance around the crater is now prohibited. If you plan on being in the Hakone area please take precautionary measures and limit outside activity. Please keep yourself informed via local weather and news services, and check CFAY Facebook for updates. The Emergency Operation Center will monitor current NOAC and JMA predictions and provide any significant updates.

Installation Information

Fleet Activities, Yokosuka comprises 568 acres and is located 43 miles south of Tokyo at the entrance of Tokyo Bay and approximately 18 miles south of Yokohama. Yokosuka is on the Miura peninsula in the Kanto Plain region of the Pacific Coast in Central Honshu, Japan. CFAY is the largest overseas U.S. Naval installation in the world and is considered to be one of the most strategically important bases in the U.S. military.

provide simultaneous emergency notifications to OneNet computer desktops, as well as home, work and
mobile email and telephones.
