Personal Procurement

The Personally Procured Move (PPM), formerly known as "Do-It-Yourself, DITY," program is an alternate means of moving your personal property. You must make the arrangements at origin just as you would for a Government arranged move and complete certain other requirements to include obtaining weight tickets.

The PPM program allows you to personally move household goods (HHG) and either be reimbursed up to the Government’s cost or to collect an incentive payment from the Government when you have orders for PCS, TDY, ETS, or RET, or assignment to/from or between Government Quarters.

Interested in packing up your belongings and moving them yourself? Call your local FFSC for assistance and review the information for PPMs on the Navy Household Goods website.

For more information on your allowances and responsibilities involving the shipment and or storage of your Household Goods (HHG) and Unaccompanied Baggage (UB) consult "It's Your Move" for Armed Forces Members.
