     Patrick J. Moran is a native of Buffalo, New York. A graduate of Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL with a BA in Aviation Management, he was commissioned in December of 1992. He entered flight training in June of 1993 and was designated a Naval Aviator in April of 1995.
     Following H-60 fleet replacement pilot training with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron ONE, Cmdr. Moran reported to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron FIFTEEN in May of 1996. During this tour he completed two full deployments encompassing operations in the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf aboard USS ENTERPRISE (CVN 65) and USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (CVN 69). In October of 1999, he reported to Joint Task Force/Southwest Asia as the Deputy Director/Acting Director of the Joint Search and Rescue Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, providing the central coordination for all rescue efforts within Operation SOUTHERN WATCH. In March of 2000, Cmdr. Moran reported to Training Squadron TEN and served as a primary flight instructor for Naval Flight Officers in the T-34C.
     In October of 2002, Cmdr. Moran reported to the Commander, SIXTH Fleet staff aboard USS LASALLE (AGF 3), home ported in Gaeta, Italy. He was responsible for the planning and coordination of all helicopter and combat search and rescue operations for initial and follow-on SIXTH Fleet missions during Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. Additionally, he reorganized the entire SIXTH Fleet maritime search and rescue program, re-establishing close coordination with 90 foreign National Rescue Coordination Centers. In late 2004, following H-60 refresher training with Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron TEN, Cmdr. Moran reported to Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron THREE aboard NAS Jacksonville, where he served as the Squadron’s Safety Officer and Maintenance Officer. In September of 2005, he deployed with the Squadron aboard THEODORE ROOSEVELT (CVN 71), flying combat missions in and around Basra, Iraq in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM. In January of 2007, Cmdr. Moran conducted a seven month IA assigned to Commander, European Command where we was the theater Non-combatant Evacuation Operations Officer.
     In December of 2007, Cmdr. Moran reported the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, graduating in June of 2009 with a Master of Arts Degree in National Security Affairs with a focus on the Western Hemisphere and Latin America.
     Cmdr. Moran reported to Naval Support Activity, Bahrain in August 2009 where he served as the command’s Executive Officer, supporting more than 92 tenant commands, including Commander, Naval Central Command.  In September of 2010, Cmdr. Moran reported to Naval Station Rota, Spain as the base Operations Officer.  In March of 2012, Cmdr. Moran assumed the duties as Executive Officer of Naval Station Rota and Chief Staff Officer of U.S. Naval Activities, Spain. In September of 2014, Cmdr. Moran reported to CNIC Headquarters to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Deputy Commander.
    Cmdr. Moran reported to Naval Air Station (NAS) Sigonella in August of 2017 to serve as the Executive Officer.
