Jeff Dunham brought his show to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam on May 24 and gave his fans a free comedy show at Ward Field.

Even with the heavy rain and flash flood warning, thousands of fans braved the rain and came out early to get the best seats in the house for the event, billed as the “Disorderly Conduct” show.

Lauren Saenz, alongside her two friends, waited on the field for the comedy show to start.

“I’m looking forward to lots of laughs and to bust a gut,” Saenz said. She said she has been a fan of Dunham for the past five years, so this comedy show was something she was excited about.

Another fan of Dunham who was also excited to see his show was family member Katy Perry.

“I never thought I would be able to see him live at his show, so this is really exciting for me to see him in Hawaii,” Perry said.

Perry said the rainy weather would not deter her thoughts about attending.

“Absolutely not, I’m excited,” she said.

She added that her favorite Dunham character is Achmed the Dead Terrorist “because he tells it like it is.”

Dunham started his show with a video montage of all his characters getting arrested and interrogated.

Dunham greeted all his fans with a joke about the weather.

Two fans, Dee Snyder and Kathleen Brill, were able to meet Dunham after his show after winning a meet and greet pass on Great Life Hawaii’s Facebook page
