Captain Brad L. Stallings


Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo

A native of Attica, Ohio, CAPT Stallings graduated from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida in 1995 earning a Bachelor of Technology degree in Industrial Management. He received his commission through the Enlisted Commissioning Program.

In 1999, CAPT Stallings attended Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California and earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and completed the Total Ship’s System Engineering (TSSE) program. In 2007, he completed a master's degree at the Command and Staff College in Quantico, Virginia where he earned a Masters in Military Studies. In 2009, he graduated from the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.

At sea, CAPT Stallings' tours included: Commodore and Deputy Commander of Patrol Coastal Squadron One in Manama, Bahrain, Commanding Officer of USS ELROD (FFG 55), which deployed to the Sixth Fleet AOR; Commanding Officer of USS KAUFFMAN (FFG 59); Executive Officer onboard USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS (DDG 95), which deployed to the Horn of Africa twice in support of Anti-Piracy operations; Commanding Officer of Patrol Coastal Crew INDIA onboard USS TYPHOON (PC 5), which deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom; Pre-commissioning Engineer Officer onboard USS MOMSEN (DDG 92); Ordnance Officer onboard USS ROBERT G. BRADLEY (FFG 49), which deployed with Standard Naval Forces Atlantic; Damage Control Assistant and Electrical Officer on USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64), which deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Southern Watch; and while enlisted, USS VREELAND (FF 1068) where he served as Sonar Technician First Class and deployed in 1988 to the Mediterranean Sea in support of U.S. interests during the Cold War.

Ashore, CAPT Stallings served at the Joint Warfare Analysis Center (JWAC) in Dahlgren, Virginia where he was the Division Head for 12 military officers and 60 civilian scientists and engineers who produced precision targeting products for all Combatant Commands. Additionally at JWAC, he served as Liaison Officer to United States Pacific Command and United States Forces Korea and he deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), the Joint Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (3 awards) and various other unit, campaign and service awards.
