Executive Officer, Joint Expedtionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story

 

Commander Brent Fulton grew up in Plainville, Connecticut and enlisted in the United States Navy in June of 1991.

 

He attended basic training at Recruit Training Command Orlando, Florida and subsequently attended Basic Electronics and Electricity School.  He further transferred to Naval Training Command Great Lakes and attended the Electronics Technician “A” School and graduated top of his class.

 

In June 2002, he was commissioned as an Ensign and reported to Pensacola, Florida for Limited Duty Officer Indoctrination.  He then reported to Fleet Training Center San Diego as the Advanced Electronics School Assistant Officer-in-Charge.  In July 2003, he reported to USS Duluth (LPD 6) as the Electronics Material Officer (EMO) where he earned his Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) and Tactical Action Officer (TAO) qualifications.  In addition, he was awarded the 2005 Admiral Arleigh Burke Award for Operational Excellence by the Surface Navy Association.

 

In November 2005, he reported to USS Doyle (FFG 39) as the EMO.  In March 2008, he reported aboard USS Farragut (DDG 99) serving as the EMO and CSO for nearly half of his tour of duty.  In April 2010, he reported to Commander, Undersea Surveillance (COMUNDERSEASURV) as Mobile Systems Director where he managed life cycle support for the Tactical Auxiliary General Ocean Surveillance (TAGOS) Class Ships.  In March 2012, he reported to Carrier Strike Group Twelve as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, Logistics and Materials Officer and CSO earning his Battle Watch Officer qualification.  In June 2014, he reported to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMSLANT), Norfolk, Virginia as N4 Department Head.  

 

His most recent assignment was as the Combat Systems Materials Officer onboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) where he was promoted to his present rank of Commander.  He reported to Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story as the Executive Officer in December 2018.

 

Commander Fulton’s awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (5 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6 awards), and various other service medals and ribbons.
