Military to Conduct Training in Naval Magazine, Dandan-Malojloj, Radio Barrigada, Agat Bay, Outer Apra Harbor, Open Ocean, Warning Area 517

ASAN, Guam (Aug. 21, 2020) – The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire training at the Naval Magazine Aug. 24 from 12:30-5 a.m.

Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity due to the training.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in Dandan-Malojloj and Radio Barrigada Aug. 24-27 from 1-11:55 p.m.

Simulated ammunition will be used in this training. Residents in surrounding areas should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity.

The U.S. Navy will conduct training in the vicinity of Agat Bay and Outer Apra Harbor Aug. 24-27 from 1-11:55 p.m.

Simulated ammunition will be used for this training. Residents in surrounding areas are requested to remain clear of units in the area and should not be alarmed if they hear or see increased activity.

The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire exercises in open ocean Aug. 24-27 from 1-11:55 p.m. at the following coordinates: 13˚26''N/145˚08''E, 13˚42''N/144˚36''E.

Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The U.S. Navy will conduct live fire training at the Naval Magazine on the following dates and times:

 Aug. 25 from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 Aug. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct live fire exercises in Warning Area 517 Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Marine vessels are advised to remain clear of the area for the duration of the event and to monitor the U.S. Coast Guard broadcast Notice to Mariners for advisories.

The Guam National Guard will conduct training exercises in Radio Barrigada Aug. 28 to Sept. 10 from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The general public should not be alarmed if they see or hear increased activity due to the training.

These trainings support readiness and are critical to developing the skills needed to respond to operational missions throughout the region to ensure a stable, free, and open Indo-Pacific.
