Naval Support Activity South Potomac 

Command Master Chief Medina is a native of Chicago Illinois. He enlisted in the Navy in November 1995 and completed Recruit Training in Great Lakes Il. He attended Aviation Electronics Technician “A” school in Millington, Tennessee and Naval Aircrew Candidate School in Pensacola, Florida.

His duty assignments include Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron ONE and TWO NAS Whidbey Island, Washington; Naval Research Laboratory NAS Patuxent River, Maryland; Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois; United States Naval Academy Annapolis, Maryland; USS DEXTROUS (MCM13) Manama, Bahrain. During these tours, he performed duties and flew in direct support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He deployed to the Arabian Gulf, Pacific Area of Operations, Southwest Asia Area of Operations, and South American Area of Operations. He is currently assigned as the Command Master Chief for Naval Support Activity South Potomac.

Master Chief Medina was selected to the Command Master Chief program in July 2014 and is a graduate of the CMC/COB Course and the Senior Enlisted Academy. He holds an Associate’s Degree from Excelsior College and a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), Good Conduct (seven awards), and various unit and campaign awards.
