"Navy Region Hawaii installations are participating in HURREX 15, a hurricane preparedness exercise through May 29. The following information is an example of what would be provided in the event of an actual hurricane approaching Hawaii:

Navy Region Hawaii sets Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness Two

PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM - As part of HURREX 15, Commander, Navy Region Hawaii has set Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness (TCCOR) 2, with destructive and sustained winds of 50 knots or greater anticipated within 24 hours.

During TCCOR 2, Child Development Centers on JBPHH will begin to close, and military families should review their child care plans. In the event that housing areas are ordered to evacuate, JBPHH will open Safe Havens for families affected. If you are ordered to evacuate to a JBPHH Safe Haven, bring your disaster kit and water with you.

The state of Hawaii will announce what shelters will be open at and what you need to do to register. JBPHH personnel and their families should monitor the Navy Region Hawaii and JBPHH Facebook and websites for updates, and listen to recorded messages on the JBPHH Straight Talk Line at (808) 421-4000.

As soon as we get word of a change in TCCOR we will notify you. Please remain vigilant and listen to local news for updates.
