New COLA Rate Survey Begins May 1st

The Living Pattern Survey (LPS), an important component in determining the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Japan, begins on May 1, 2015 and continues through May 22, 2015. The Defense Travel Management Office conducts this online survey every three years and captures input from service members and their families to establish where and how goods and services ...are purchased. All service members in Japan are highly encouraged to take the 30 minute survey either at work or at home with their families.

The survey is located at http://www.defensetravel.dod.mil/site/lps-japan.cfm or by using the QR Code to the right. The link will not work until the official start day of May 1, 2015. COLA is a valuable entitlement while stationed overseas. By taking the time and effort to complete the LPS, the Department of Defense is able to set equitable allowance rates for Japan. Thank you and please remember that completing the survey is your voice in this valuable entitlement.
