Commander Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Commander Submarine Group 7, and the City of Yokosuka will be conducting an exercise in preparation for the Annual US-Japan Joint Drill on December 1, 2016.

Forrestal Street (near Berth 9) will be closed between 0830 and 1130. Traffic will be impacted around the intersection of Forrestal and Howard St and around Fleet Recreation Center. A giant voice announcement about an earthquake will be heard as part of this exercise. Please disregard any giant voice announcements in relations to this exercise.

Installation Information

Fleet Activities, Yokosuka comprises 568 acres and is located 43 miles south of Tokyo at the entrance of Tokyo Bay and approximately 18 miles south of Yokohama. Yokosuka is on the Miura peninsula in the Kanto Plain region of the Pacific Coast in Central Honshu, Japan. CFAY is the largest overseas U.S. Naval installation in the world and is considered to be one of the most strategically important bases in the U.S. military.

LEGAL ASSISTANCE OFFICE CLOSURE: Effective Immediately, the Legal Assistance office will now be closed from 0800-1200 the first Friday of every month (i.e. Nov 4th, Dec 2nd, Jan 6th, Feb 3rd, Mar 3rd). Due to the commands new training schedule, the Region Legal Service Office, Legal Assistance Office will be closed from 0800-1200 the first Friday of every month.
