Attention:
Japan's Health ministry has confirmed that 59 people have contracted dengue fever after visiting Yoyogi Park (Meiji Shrine) and immediate vicinity in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward.  Portions of Yoyogi Park are now closed and personnel should refrain from visiting, as mosquitoes continue to harbor the virus. Visitors to the area are strongly urged to cover exposed skin and apply liberal amounts of insect repellent with DEET greater than 25%.  Symptoms usually begin four to seven days after an infected mosquito bite, and may include sudden high fever, severe headaches, joint and muscle pain, nausea, and vomiting.  If you visited the park in August and have any of these symptoms, or visit the park and develop these symptoms, please see your medical care provider.
