Reid was advanced through the Navy’s Advanced Technical Field program which grants automatic promotion to petty officer 3rd class after successful completion of A-school. The group viewed the aircraft, assigned to Marine Medium Tilt Rotor Squadron (VMM) 262, to familiarize themselves with hazards that can occur in the event of an aircraft mishap.
