Attention:

Japan's Health ministry has confirmed that more than 100 people have contracted dengue fever after visiting parks in the vicinity of Tokyo's Shibuya Ward.  Portions of Yoyogi Park, Shinjuku Park, and Meiji-jingu Gaien are now closed and personnel should refrain from visiting, as mosquitos continue to harbor the virus. Visitors to the area are strongly urged to cover exposed skin and apply liberal amounts of insect repellent with DEET greater than 25%.  Symptoms usually begin four to seven days after an infected mosquito bite, and may include sudden high fever, severe headaches, joint and muscle pain, nausea, and vomiting.  If you visited the park in August or September and have any of these symptoms, or visit the park and develop these symptoms, please see your medical care provider.
