Fleet and Family Readiness

Aquatics (Bldg 3076) • 264-6165/6161
Take a dip at one of our two pools. The 25-meter Ranger Indoor Pool is open from Oct 1 – Memorial Day for early morning lap swims, plus lap and open swimming throughout the day. Swim lessons and lifeguard training are held during select periods. The Outdoor Pool (Bldg 52) is open from May 28 – Sep 30 and offers lap swim, a water slide, free swimming, diving, and baby/kiddy pools. Sunbathing loungers and shaded picnic tables are also available.

Atsugi Golf Course (Bldg 1460)  • 264-3779
Atsugi's 18-hole golf course features a full-service pro shop carrying major brand golf equipment and accessories. Golf lessons are also available from PGA members. Other features of the Atsugi Golf Course are a lighted driving range, and chipping & putting greens. Free golf clinics for ladies, adults, and kids are held April – October at the driving range. Atsugi Lanes Bowling (Bldg 77) • 264-3790
Atsugi Lanes offers 10 AMF lanes with an animated, automatic scoring system and bumper bowling for kids. Active Duty can bowl for $1 per game Mon-Fri from 100-1400, and every Saturday night is Cosmic Bowling: glow-in-the-dark bowling with rockin’ tunes.

Auto Skills Center (Bldg 423) • 264-3780
Located on the eastside of the runway, the Automotive Skills Center (ASC) can help you save big bucks on auto repairs and maintenance. It provides a variety of tools for performing common car maintenance and repair work. To keep your equipment high and dry while you're in-between projects, ASC has sheds available for rent. Learn how to do basic maintenance work by attending one of the FREE classes throughout the year.

Atsugi Station Library (Bldg 949)  • 264-3776
Located on the second floor of the NAF headquarters building, the library is fully stocked with books, audio books, ebooks, DVDs, video games and learning software that will help you expand your mind! There is a children’s reading room and computing area, an adults computing area with printing, copying and faxing services and plenty of reading nooks and study spaces. Children’s Story Hour is held every Thursday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The library also hosts both winter and summer reading programs. An online catalog of Atsugi, Sasebo, Negishi and Yokosuka library books can be found here. Stay connected with the library on its Facebook page!

Cultural craft classes are offered at the Library, including shoudo (calligraphy), ikebana (flower arrangement), oshie (cloth doll relief pictures) and chigirie (torn washi-paper pictures). For more information, call 264-3728.

Cinema 77 (Bldg 77) • 264-3789
Check the movie schedule here! The fully digital and 3D-capable theater is home to nightly movies Thu-Mon as well as special events. Single tickets and movie passes may be purchased from the Community Recreation Center.

Community Recreation Center (Bldg 77)  • 264-3782
The Community Recreation Center features billiards, ping pong, air hockey, darts, foosball and slots. It's open to all ages until 1700, then it's adults-only until close. The cash cage sells movie tickets/passes and Liberty trips.

Halsey Gym (Bldg 70)  • 264-3847/3560
Halsey Gym and its annex features modern workout equipment and a wealth of group fitness classes, including the popular BodyPump, BodyCombat, and Zumba classes. Next door to Halsey is the Family Fitness Room. Download the adult sports calendar here.

Health & Wellness Center (Bldg 3076) • 264-6163
Need some tips and advice about how to stay in shape? The Health & Wellness Center inside Ranger Gym offers personal training, NOFFS courses, Mission Nutrition Classes and personal fitness assessments.  

Community Recreation Gear Rental (Bldg 978)  • 264-6205
Gear Rental offers a variety of outdoor gear rentals and tuning services for skis, snowboards and bicycles. Translated information on local outdoor adventures is also available. Whether you are planning a backyard BBQ or a weekend camping trip, Gear Rental has you covered. Note: all rental for outdoor gear must be made in person. We are unable to take phone reservations.

Park Reservations
Need some space to throw a party? Call Gear Rental to reserve any of the MWR parks. Reservations are free of charge and may be accepted up to 30 days in advance.

Ranger Gym (Bldg 3076) • 264-6160
Ranger Gym offers a full range of fitness equipment plus group fitness classes such as Power Yoga and Pilates. It also houses an Indoor Pool and the Health and Wellness Center. MWR offers intramural tournament sports, Captain's Cup events, and seasonal competitives, including lots of 5K runs. Download the adults sports calendar here.

Single Sailor Liberty (Bldg 77)  • 264-3782
The Liberty Program offers recreational, sports and leisure activities, as well as cultural entertainment, for all single sailors, geographical bachelors and single Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA)-sponsored personnel who are over 18 and stationed at NAF Atsugi. We focus on exploring Japan in a variety of ways. Included are day trips, movie and bowling specials and much more. Many events are free; all are brought to you at the lo 1A46 west cost possible.

The Liberty Lounge is a great place for single sailors to spend some down time. There are several big screen televisions with comfortable seating, as well as gaming consoles, wireless internet, computers, massage chairs, phones to call home, and all the latest movies and games to enjoy. It even has its own mini theater, where you can request playing your favorites.

Sailors E4 and junior receive discounted tours, movies, bowling and more!

Community Recreation Tours and Travel Office (Bldg 978)  • 264-3786
The Tours and Travel Office offers a variety of weekend trips, one-day tours, and special no-school Spring, Summer and holiday break excursions. From snowboarding to climbing Mt. Fuji, strawberry picking to fireworks festivals, Tours and Travel provides you lots of opportunities to explore and experience Japan. The current tours listing can be found here. For a detailed list, please sign up for the tours newsletter at the Tours and Travel office, or at the newcomer's area orientation brief (AOB). Book airline travel to any point on the globe through our contracted IACE travel service, located inside the Tours and Travel office.
