NOTICE:  MWR RECREATION SERVICES BLDG. #89 RENOVATION UPDATE

We closed the MWR Recreation Building #89 in October to make improvements.  We expected these improvements to be completely done and the building returned to you in April.  But, as we progressed toward completion we ran into some unforeseen building deficiencies that required additional funding for repair. The additional funding approval caused us some valuable time and has required us to push the completion date to the right.  We hesitate to give you a date at this time as contract negotiations are still ongoing. We will stay in touch and give you a more definitive timeline as we progress closer to a contract completion date.  We apologize for the inconvenience and really, really thank you for your patience, understanding and support.

4TH ANNUAL NAVY-AIR FORCE HALF MARATHON AND  12TH ANNUAL NAVY 5-MILER

The half marathon and 5-miler will take place at 7 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2015 on the grounds of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.   The race is open to all military and civilian runners. The USTFA certified courses start and finish in the shadow of the Washington Monument. Passing many of Washington, DC Memorials, the course takes runners along the scenic Rock Creek Parkway and the flat and fast East and West Potomac Parks.    Runners will receive a finisher's medal to recognize their achievement in completing the race.  Award categories include overall male and female, master (40+ years of age) male and female, wheelchair male and female, age groups, and teams for each race.    A runner's expo will be held during packet pick-up for runners to get great deals on race gear and running products.    Full-Website Registration Link:   https://register.chronotrack.com/reg/form?eventID=1098
