CAPT Lindfors was raised across the USA in most of the U.S. Navy fleet concentration areas.  He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Naval Architecture and was the winner of the 1993 Rosenblatt Naval Architecture Ship Design Award.

Following completion of the Surface Warfare Officers School Division Officers Course in Newport, RI, CAPT Lindfors completed the following sea tours:  USS SHREVEPORT (LPD 12) as Machinery Officer and First Division Officer, USS PETERSON (DD 969) as Combat Information Center Officer, USS THE SULLIVANS (DDG 68) as Operations Officer, Destroyer Squadron Fourteen as Combat Systems Officer/Training Department Head, Carrier Strike Group TEN as Strike Operations Officer, USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) as Damage Control Assistant, USS HALLIBURTON as Executive Officer, and Commander, Task Force 70 as the Maritime Operations Officer.

CAPT Lindfors is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School from the Information Warfare Curriculum earning a Master’s of Science Degree in Systems Engineering and graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval War College with a Masters of Arts Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies.  His Commander Command tour was of Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet Navy Data Center supporting Commander, Task Force 74, SEVENTH Fleet, and furthering our relationship with Japan Maritime Self Defense Force.  His efforts were personally recognized by the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force Director General of Operations and Plans.  His Major Command tour was as Commodore for Navy’s largest squadron, Maritime Preposition Ships Squadron THREE providing worldwide logistics support to meet Unified/Fleet Commander/Department of Defense requirements across all four services.  He is currently serving as Deputy Commander for U.S. Naval Forces Korea as of 2 July 2019.

CAPT Lindfors' personal decorations include Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medals, Navy Achievement Medals, and various service medals, unit and campaign awards.
