Mission Statement
The mission of the Society is to provide - in partnership with the Navy and Marine Corps – financial, educational, and other assistance to members of the Naval Services of the United States, and their family members and survivors, when in need; and to manage funds to administer these programs.
What the Society can offer:
Quick Assist Loans (QAL) up to $500 for certain needs to active duty Sailors and Marines
Interest-free loans and/or grants to help with emergencies such as:
Food, rent, and utilities
Disaster relief assistance
Essential Vehicle Repairs
Unforeseen family emergencies
Medical/dental bills
Emergency transportation
Funeral expenses
Spending Plan Development – work with NMCRS caseworkers to develop a personal spending plan
Visiting Nurses – house calls and instruction to mothers with newborns, retirees, and widows/widowers
Budget for Baby Workshops – learn how a household budget will be affected by baby’s arrival, and receive a layette for baby
Spouse Tuition Aid Program - need based no interest loan available to spouses residing with their active duty service member sponsor, while stationed outside the fifty United States. You can receive up to $3000 per 12 month period with a 24 month repayment
Join the NMCRS Volunteer Team and:
- Help people in need
- Develop new skills and improve existing talents
- Receive training for the jobs you perform
- Be reimbursed for mileage and child care expenses
- Tell others about the Society’s programs and services
