HOMES.mil is a new official Department of Defense (DoD) website, dedicated to helping Service members, Families, and DOD civilians find housing.

Must Know

Please check with your sponsor regarding your OHA/LQA for renting in the Naples area.

We strongly recommend that all sponsors contact the Housing Office as soon as you know when your new family will be arriving. We will be able at this time to provide up-to-date timeframes on the availability of government quarters.

Single and Unaccompanied Service Members
Single E-1 to E-4 service members will reside in Unaccompanied Housing upon arrival. If you wish to move into economy housing, you must process a request chit through your local command for approval.

Civilian Personnel
Selected civilian personnel may be eligible to reside in government quarters. You must report to the Housing Office upon arrival to allow us to register you in our data base and assist you in locating a home. You will be required to provide us with a copy of your orders and your transportation agreement upon your arrival, and we will assist you in completing our housing application process.

The Human Resources Office (HRO) will explain to you upon check-in your process for drawing Temporary Quarters Subsistence Allowance (TQSA) as well as your structure and dollar amounts for your housing allowance while you are living in Italy. You are eligible to draw TQSA for a period of 90 days while looking for your home. You may reach HRO through the main NSA Naples website. Explanation of allowances can be found at: https://aoprals.state.gov/.

Please make sure your sponsor or Command makes reservations for you at the Navy Lodge or a local hotel in the Naples area. Should you or your sponsor require any advance information or have questions, please contact us.

Personnel Arriving in Gaeta and Rome
The only government quarters available to those stationed in the Gaeta and Rome area is located on or close to the Naval Support Activity Naples. There are a number of units on the economy for those who wish to live close to Gaeta and Rome. Our counselors will assist you in your options upon your arrival.

Pet Policy

Members living in pet-designated government housing may have two pets (i.e., dog, cat, bird hamster/gerbil or guinea pig). Exotic animals such as snakes, lizards, barnyard fouls, rabbits, and spiders are prohibited from any government housing. Any dog of a breed (including mixed breed) that have a potential for harm or are hazardous to others as potentially aggressive are not allowed. Breeds included are Pit Bulls (American Stafford Bull Terrier, American Bully, or English Bull Terrier), Rottweiler, Doberman Pinschers, and wolf hybrids. Exceptions to this policy must be submitted in writing to the NAVSUPPACT Naples CO via member’s chain of command. It is important you let your sponsor know about your pet requirement prior to your arrival.

If you rent on the local economy, most landlords allow pets, either cats and/or dogs.

Government Quarters/Support Site
Most of the housing area is developed in apartment buildings style 6 to 12 units each for both officer and enlisted families.

Apartments are configured as 2, 3, and 4-bedroom units; all are equipped with central heat and air conditioning, a laundry room with American-style washer and dryer, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, a gas oven/range, a refrigerator, cable TV and both 110V and 220V electrical receptacles. The AFN satellite system and ADSL Internet access are available in each home.

Unaccompanied Housing (UH) Overview

Upon arrival, unaccompanied E-1 to E-4 service members will reside in the BEQ at Support Site. Service members will either reside in the BEQ at building 2087, next to the Hospital, or the Triangle BEQ, located in buildings 2022, 2024-2026, 2032-3038. If space is not available, you will reside in the Navy Lodge until BEQ space is available.
