Captain Tewell is an MH-60R and SH-60B Seahawk pilot who has deployed around the world on frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers. Operational highlights of his career have included the inaugural fleet deployment of the MH-60R, participating in Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Arabian Gulf, conducting international exercises in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Baltic Seas, and serving as the sixth Commanding Officer of the “First and Finest” HSM-71 Raptors.
Werner Rauchenstein, born and raised in Alaska, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering. He earned a commission as an Ensign and was assigned to NAS Pensacola for flight training.
Command Master Chief (SS/SW) Brian J. McDonough enlisted in December 1990 and attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Illinois with follow-on orders to Basic Enlisted Submarine School and Electronics Technician (ET) "A" and "C" schools in Groton, Connecticut.
