Commander Robert B. Hagel

Executive Officer and Public Works Officer

 

Commander Robert (Brad) Hagel is a native of Manassas, Virginia and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in December 2001. He was commissioned into the Civil Engineer Corps in April 2002 after completing Officer Candidate School at Pensacola, Florida. He earned a Masters of Civil Engineering Degree from North Carolina State University in July 2008.

 

His operational tours include Assistant Operations Officer/Company Commander, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTY-FOUR in Gulfport, MS; European Operations Officer/Assistant Operations Officer, Twenty-Second Naval Construction Regiment in Gulfport, MS; and an individual augment assignment to Baghdad, Iraq.

 

His shore assignments include Customer Liaison, Public Works Department, Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island; Assistant Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina; Deputy Assistant Regional Engineer, NAVFAC Southwest in San Diego, California; Facilities Engineering and Acquisition Division Director, Public Works Department, Coronado, California; and Strategic Laydown and Dispersal lead and Military Construction Branch Head for Commander, Navy Installations Command in Washington, DC.

 

Hagel is currently dual hatted as the Executive Officer and the Public Works Officer for Naval Support Facility Deveselu, Romania as of June 2019.  

 

Hagel is a registered professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a member of the Defense Acquisition Corps, and qualified as a Seabee Combat Warfare Officer. His decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards), and other personal, service, unit and campaign awards.
