Master Chief Lovelace assumed his current duties as the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Command Master Chief in June 2019. His responsibilities include the dissemination and promotion of Navy policies that affect the mission, readiness, welfare and morale of all JBPHH Sailors, Airmen and their families.
Master Chief Lovelace, a native of Abernathy, Texas, enlisted in the United States Navy in February 1993, completing basic training at Recruit Training Command San Diego, California. His previous assignments include Helicopter Combat Support Squadron FIVE Naval Air Station Agana, Guam, where he earned the Aviation Machinists Mate rating, Patrol Squadron FOUR ZERO in Whidbey Island, Washington is where he earned his Enlisted Aviation Warfare qualification and advancement to Petty Officer Third Class. He was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer while stationed at Special Projects Patrol Squadron TWO in Barbers Point, Hawaii. He was then advanced to First Class Petty Officer and earned his Safe for Flight designation while with Strike Fighter Squadron ONE ZERO TWO in Atsugi, Japan.
In 2006, Master Chief Lovelace rotated to a shore tour at the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit Lemoore, California where he was selected for advancement to Chief Petty Officer. During this tour, he served as the Assistant Chief Petty Officer in Charge and earned his Master Training Specialist designation (MTS). In 2009, he reported to Strike Fighter Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN in Lemoore, California. While serving at VFA-137, he earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare designation and was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer.
In October 2012, he reported aboard USS FORD (FFG 54) home ported in Everett, Washington as the Command Senior Chief, shortly thereafter he advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer in May 2013. In July 2013, Master Chief Lovelace returned to Lemoore, California as the Strike Fighter Squadron TWO, Bounty Hunters Command Master Chief. During his tour with VFA-2, the command received the 2013 CSFWP Scott Kirby, 2013 CSFWP Boola-Boola, 2013 Blue "M", 2014 CSFWP Bruce Carrier and 2014 Blue "M" awards. In June 2015, he was Selected for his first major command CMC tour where he joined the Carrier Air Wing NINE, “SHOGUN” team and led eight squadrons through a highly succesful Western Pacific Deployment and Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exersise.
Upon transfer from CVW-9, Master Chief Lovelace joined the CNIC team as the installation CMC aboard Naval Air Station Lemoore. He led the mission support efforts for 26 tenant Commands, ensuring quality of life programs were maintained at the highest levels for all Sailors and their families.
Master Chief Lovelace is a graduate of the United States Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 168 (Grey) and the Command Leadership Course in Newport, RI.
Master Chief Lovelace is also a graduate of numerous technical schools that apply to his rating. Personal awards include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4 awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
