Capt. Young grew up in San Diego, California, and commissioned upon graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1995 with a degree in Finance and Business Economics. He reported to Pensacola, Florida, for flight training, receiving his Wings of Gold in 1997.

Cmdr. Schmaeling commissioned upon graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1999 with a degree in History. He reported to Pensacola, Florida, for flight training, and received his Wings of Gold in 2001.
Senior Enlisted Leader, Pacific Missile Range Facility
CMDCS William Eickhoff (Will) was born and raised in Valencia, California. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Navy in July 1996. He attended Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois. Following completion of recruit training he reported to Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Illinois with a follow-on course of instruction at Fleet Marine Service School, Camp Pendleton, California.
Technical Director, Pacific Missile Range Facility
Robert “Bob” Kay is a native of LaSalle, Illinois. He retired from the U.S. Navy in June, 2007, after serving 20 years as a Surface Warfare Officer. He is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, and while on Active Duty also earned a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
