Master Chief James C. Bibb

Command Master Chief 

     Master Chief James C. Bibb was born in Anderson, South Carolina, and enlisted in the United States Navy in May, 1994.  He attended Recruit Training in Great Lakes, IL, serving as Starboard Watch Section Leader, Company 931’s Honor Graduate, and Third Element Leader of the US Navy Recruit Drill Team, performing for multiple graduations and the CNO.

     After completing Aviation Electrician’s Mate ‘A’ School in Millington, TN and P-3 FRAMP in Jacksonville, FL, graduating both with honors, he joined the Fighting Tigers of VP-8, home ported in Brunswick, ME.  Here he completed four deployments in five years, advanced to PO2, and became an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist.

     His subsequent sea duty tours include BUPERS SDC, Dallas, TX where he was advanced to PO1 and then to Chief Petty Officer;  VP-4, where he served as Safe for Flight Qualifier, Shooters LCPO, Maintenance Control Supervisor, Quality Assurance Supervisor, Quality Assurance Officer, and Division LCPO.  During this tour, he completed a seven month, boots-on-the-ground deployment to Iraq operating combat missions from Talil Air Base;  a second tour at BUPERS SDC, Dallas, TX, where he was advanced to Senior Chief Petty Officer; Special Projects Patrol Squadron Two where he has served as Acting CMC, Maintenance Control Supervisor, Division LCPO, Material Control Officer, Deployed Senior Enlisted Leader, Senior Section Leader, Suicide Prevention Coordinator, Casualty Assistance Calls Officer, and Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Officer.  He completed multiple boots-on-the-ground detachments to hot spots around the world, spending over a year forward deployed.

      Ashore he served as Command Fitness Leader for Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes.  He also served as Captain’s Cup Facilitator, Physical Training Instructor, and Manpower Manager for Technical Training Department.

      Selected for Command Senior Chief in February 2017, he transferred to Pacific Missile Range Facility, Barking Sands, Kauai.  In August of 2017, while serving as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for PMRF, he was advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer.

      He has graduated from over 20 leadership and technical schools to include the Senior Enlisted Academy, class 178 (Purple) in February 2014, CMC/COB School, class 171 in May 2017, and CNIC’s Shore Station Leadership Course in June 2017.  He has held a Top Secret security clearance with SCI since 2000.  He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in History, majoring in Diplomacy and Military Studies at Hawaii Pacific University. 

     His personal awards include the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three gold stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two gold stars), two Flag Letters of Commendation, multiple Good Conduct Medals, and numerous campaign and service awards.   In addition to his military awards, he attained the rank of Eagle Scout in 1988.
