Who can stay in NGIS?
NGIS facilities are for authorized military travelers, DoD civilians, and contractors on official travel orders to Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Barking Sands. Active duty military and their dependents on leave, along with retirees may stay on a space available basis.
All military travelers on orders, destined to PMRF, should contact NGIS for reservations as soon as their travel dates are known. Individual travelers may log-in to the link below to make on-line reservations, or should call 1-877-NAVYBED (628-9233). The local reservations office number for group reservations is (808) 335-4697.
For Navy funded travel, the official Navy’s travel policy requires personnel to obtain all travel arrangements through their local servicing Commercial Travel Office (CTO) whenever possible. If a traveler only requires NGIS reservations (no commercial air needed), please call SATO’s Navy Central Housing Reservations Desk at 1-800-576-9327.
Travel Space Available
Military travelers not on official orders (including retirees) may be lodged on a space available basis. Reservation requests for Space “A” travelers is being accepted 30 days prior to arrival for a maximum of seven days, provided space is available. The reservation may be extended for one additional week if subsequent occupancy projections allow.
Several of our facilities offer rooms which meet requirements of the American with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please ensure special needs are identified when making reservations.
Independent Military-Affiliated Lodging
Many NGIS facilities can accommodate families, but sometimes there is not space available, and sometimes families prefer a “hotel” atmosphere.
If on-base lodging is unavailable, secure a non-availability letter from the NGIS prior to making a reservation at TLA approved hotel. Click here for a list of TLA approved hotels. Be sure to confirm the maximum daily amount allowed for TLA prior to booking a hotel. TLA rates are based upon the member’s status, single/married, and number/age of dependents. Dependents must be command sponsored to receive TLA entitlements.
All NGIS facilities offer TV's, microwaves, coffee service, cable and a convenient location.
NGIS customers consist of active duty TDY and PCS personnel, hospital patients, Air Guard, reservists and retired personnel on leisure travel and their respective family members.
