CSADD

Coalition of Sailors Against Destructive Decisions (CSADD) program encourages positive influence and behavior, while at the same time bringing together on-line social networking with peer interaction and in-person networking. This reinforces the message of "shipmates helping shipmates" and is reinforced with the "Don't be that Guy" and " Keep What You've Earned" campaign.

Mission

To provide our service members the best prevention and intervention tools to deal with destructive decisions while maintaining good order and discipline, to assist sailors in making life decisions that will maintain positive lifestyles in keeping with the Navy’s core values, to enable sailors to make quick positive decisions and put their training to use in moments of high stress and peer pressure.

Vision

Grow CSADD chapters in every command, to reinforce the mission of shipmates helping shipmates while enabling our Sailor to realize that America's Navy is a global force for good and through empowering each Sailor to take a leadership role that the force for good starts for each U.S. Navy Sailor.

(CSADD began in 2008 when Rear Adm. Mark Boensel and Fleet Master Chief (AW/SW/SCW) Scott Benning, while assigned at Navy Region Mid Atlantic, wanted to create an organization similar to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving). The concept evolved as it addressed the basic decision-making process in many areas affecting Sailors on and off duty. With strong support from Adm. Mark Ferguson, then-vice chief of naval operations, CSADD became an official Navy peer mentoring program in June 2010.)
