Emergency Management

The Emergency Management Program does not address every individual hazard or threat, but provides the organization, planning tools, training, equipment, maintenance methodology, exercise program, and sustainment guidance to identify, evaluate, prepare for, mitigate the potential effects of, respond to, and recover from events that threaten the Fleet Activities Okinawa mission and the welfare of Okinawa’s Sailors and their families. Select each of the following links for information on how to prepare for some of Okinawa’s most likely threats.

Active Shooter Preparedness
Emergency Mass-Notification, Recall, and Mustering System

Disaster Kits is simply a collection of things (usually common household items) you should consider having at the ready in the event of a disaster. You may want to have a different kit built for the most common threats you should be prepared for in Okinawa. Select Disaster Kits (link coming soon) for some basic information on how to put together a disaster kit, and use information from the specific threats listed above to build a "threat-specific" kit.

To help prepare for the possibility of an evacuation, select Noncombatant Evacuation Operations.
