Eugene Mendez, LCDR, USN
Officer in Charge, NMC EAD Det. Sasebo

Our Mission:
NMC EAD Det. Sasebo maintains the largest ordnance facility in the Western Pacific.  Our primary mission is to provide ordnance management, operations and oversight of two transshipment facilities; enforce explosives safety policies and coordinate support for operational forces in the Pacific Fleet area of responsibility.  Today, our facilities at Maebata and Hario-Shima play a vital role in arming our forward-deployed Navy, Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force units, who protect this region.  Charged with this enormous responsibility, we are to be ready at all times to deliver combat-ready ammunition to our customers in the most safe and expeditious manner possible.
