Relocation Services at FFSC help service members and families deal with the stress of moving by providing education, information, and individual assistance. Relocation Specialists provide services to help you adjust quickly and successfully to your move, whether you are arriving or departing the Yokosuka, Japan area.

Services and classes include:
 

PCS Workshop (4 hours)


This 4 hour workshop provides service members and their families an opportunity to prepare for their next PCS move. The PCS Workshop will address move-related topics such as who pays what for your move, how to ship your personal property, and have subject matter experts such as a Relocation Specialist, Financial Counselor, PSD, Personal Property (HHG), Housing, and Tri-care representatives can answer all your questions about your move.  Also, a wide variety of informative PCS materials are available at this class, free of charge.

Separation or Retirement in Japan (3 hours)


Participants will learn the procedure for separation from the military/government service in Japan from a topic expert. The class will cover various entitlements and restrictions and how they affect SOFA. Attendance is recommended for those considering separation from service with the intent to stay in Japan.
 

Sponsorship Workshop (2 hours)


This class provides volunteer or designated command sponsors with background information and useful tips so that they can help new personnel before and after their relocation to Japan. Creative communication and support is discussed as a means to make newcomers feel that they are a valued and a part of the team as quickly as possible. Spouses and teen family members are welcome to attend. Basic instruction in the management of an effective Command Sponsor Program in accordance with OPNAVINST 1740.3C will also be covered.  eSponsorship application and training is available online but does not replace the Fleet and Family Support Center training.  As per CNIC and OPNAVINST 1740.3C classroom facilitation through Fleet and Family Support Center is still required.

MilitaryOneSource:  Throughout the website, you will be able to find information on every phase of military life including deployment, parenting, financial management, spouse employment and more. On the login side of the website all eligible users will be able to request materials, sign-up for newsletters, request counseling, take personal assessments and access additional information and resources.
