Lieutenant Commander Guidry hails from Breaux Bridge, LA. He enlisted in the Navy and attended basic training in Great Lakes, IL in June 1999 and Aviation Electronics Technician “A School” in Pensacola, FL the same year. He then earned NECs in H-3 radar and micro-miniature electronic component repair in 2000 and reported to AIMD Atsugi, Japan where he served through the remainder of his enlistment in June 2003.
LCDR Guidry graduated from OCS in Pensacola, FL as the Regimental Commander and Honor Graduate of Honor Class 20-05 in September 2005. He then completed AMO School in Milton, FL and was designated an AMDO prior to reporting to the Proud Pelicans of VP-45 at NAS Jacksonville, FL. During this tour, he deployed to Djibouti, Italy and El Salvador in support of reconnaissance and counter-narcotics operations.
In January of 2008, LCDR Guidry reported to the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73) in Norfolk, VA and supported the homeport change to Yokosuka, Japan. During the transit, he served as the Fighting 1F Repair Locker Officer during a major ventilation fire in the Southern Pacific. During his ship’s company tour on CVN-73, he completed Western Pacific deployments and achieved warfare designation as a Professional Aerospace Maintenance Duty Officer.
LCDR Guidry then reported to Naval Postgraduate School in January of 2011 where he earned an MBA with distinction and was selected as the RDML Donald R. Eaton Logistics Award recipient
LCDR Guidry’s next tour in 2012 was as the MMCO/DETMO for the Wildcards of HSC-23 where he led numerous overland detachments as well as the only MH-60S deployment ever to embark aboard an Oliver Hazard Perry Class Frigate. This counter-narcotics SOUTHCOM deployment resulted in the interdiction of contraband with a multi-billion dollar street value.
In October 2014 LCDR Guidry reported to HSM-41, the Pacific MH-60R Fleet Replacement Squadron, as the Assistant Maintenance Officer and AIRSpeed Officer where his efforts were critical to the on-schedule training of combat ready pilots and aircrew.
In 2016 he reported to PMA-205, the NAVAIR Training Systems (TS) Program Office, where he was inserted into PMA-268 and served as the TS Integrated Product Team Lead for unmanned carrier aviation and steered MQ-25 though Milestone B and EMD contract award.
Most recently, LCDR Guidry was the IM-1 Officer for the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70) where he served as the MMCO/AMO and Ship’s Force Team Lead for Docking Planned Incremental Availability 2019/2020. He selected for CDR while at this Command.
LCDR Guidry is currently the AOIC of COMFAIRWESTPAC AIMD Atsugi, Japan.
His academic achievements include a BS from the ULL College of Engineering, an MBA from Naval Postgraduate School and a MA in Global Business Management from the University of Alabama.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards), a Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and various service and campaign awards.
