Deputy Commander, Joint Expedtionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story

A native of Springfield, VA, Lieutenant Colonel Bryan T. Donohue received his commission through the Army ROTC program at George Mason University in 1998. He was commissioned as an active duty Army Aviator and attended flight school receiving his rating in the UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter.

Upon completion of flight school, he was assigned as a Flight Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer in 1st Battalion, 214th Aviation Regiment. He was subsequently assigned to the 18th Airborne Corps’ aviation brigade at Fort Bragg, NC. He commanded Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 58th Aviation Regiment (Airborne) and Alpha Company, 1st Batalion, 159th Aviation Regiment (Airborne).

Once promoted to Major, he was assigned to Headquarters, 18th Airborne Corps and deployed in support of Iraqi Freedom (2008-2009) and deployed to Haiti as a part of the United States’ JTF-Haiti response to the humanitarian crisis following the earthquake in December 2009. After attending the Command and General Staff College, he was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division’s Combat Aviation Brigade where he served as the Brigade Operations Officer while deployed to Regional Command South in Afghanistan (2013). Upon redeployment, he was immediately assigned to the Army’s Human Resource Command in the Officer Personnel Management Directorate (OPMD). Most recently he served as the Chief, Joint Policy branch within the Officer Readiness Division of OPMD.
