  • CAPT John W. Hewitt

    Commanding Officer, Naval Air Station Oceana

    A native of Smithtown, New York, Hewitt enlisted in the United States Navy in 1987 and deployed aboard USS INDEPENDENCE (CV 62) and USS FORRESTAL (CV 59) as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Launch & Recovery). He received his commission in 1995 through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Program and was designated an E-2C Hawkeye Naval Flight Officer in 1997.  

  • CAPT Robert L. Holmes

    Executive Officer, Naval Air Station Oceana

    Captain Bob Holmes is a native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. He was commissioned in 1996 through Officer Candidate School and was designated a Naval Flight Officer in March 1998. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bryant University, a Master of Arts in Management from Webster University, and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.


    Command Master Chief, Naval Air Station Oceana

    Master Chief Siegfried is a 1988 graduate of Gloversville High School in Gloversville, New York.  He enlisted in the Navy in January 1990 and completed Recruit Training Command Orlando, FL in March 1990.  Upon completion of Recruit Training, he reported to NATTC Millington, TN for Aviation Ordnanceman “A” School.
