Commander, Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Notification
Navy installations around the country are conducting a force protection exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2019. This is an annual force protection exercise designed to enhance the readiness of Navy Security Forces. This exercise is not in response to any threat, but a regularly scheduled event. Measures have been taken to minimize disruptions within local communities, but there may be increased traffic and delays with installation access, so please plan accordingly. Local communities may see or hear security activities associated with this exercise.

GROTON, Conn. (April 8, 2011) The Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Providence (SSN 719) returns to Submarine Base New London after a scheduled deployment. Providence supported Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn, launching cruise missiles against Libyan air defense, surface-to-air missiles sites and communication nodes.
