- Deployments can be difficult for children but manageable when parents use knowledge, skills, and helpful coping techniques.
- FFSC offers Deployment Readiness for Parents to help parents and children learn how to cope, share feelings and emotions, and communicate effectively during deployment.
- During this pre-deployment program, children are divided into age-appropriate groups for hands-on activity.

PARENTING IN A MILITARY FAMILY
This two-part workshop explores what it means to discipline children and the ways it can be accomplished most effectively. It includes strategies for encouraging children to behave appropriately, communicating in ways that really work, and increasing cooperation. Participants discuss attention-seeking behaviors and how parents can best respond to them. Additional topics include child development, temperament, expecting and giving respect, and the impact that a military lifestyle has on children.
