A native of Rolla, Missouri, Master Chief Anthony Corey enlisted as a Cryptologic Technician (Collection) in 1990.  His first assignment was as a Direct Support (DIRSUP) Operator, deploying afloat from NSGA Northwest, Chesapeake, VA from 1991 to 1995.  During this tour he participated in OPERATION RESTORE HOPE with the WASP ARG onboard USS NASHVILLE (LPD 13) and earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist pin.

Master Chief Corey attended Basic Signals Analysis Course “C” and reported to NSGA Fort Meade, MD and the DIRSUP shop in 1996.  He deployed several times aboard Naval Combatants.

In 2000, he reported to PRECOM unit USS HOWARD (DDG 83), at Bath Iron Works Shipyard in Bath, ME.  The ship was commissioned October 20, 2001 in Galveston, TX and then homeported in San Diego, CA.  In 2002, Master Chief Corey was selected and advanced as a Chief Petty Officer.  He deployed aboard USS HOWARD with the JOHN C STENNIS Carrier Strike Group in 2004.

Following a recruiting tour in his home town from 2004 to 2007 where he was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer, Master Chief Corey was assigned to Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet headquarters at Pearl Harbor, HI.  At CPF, he worked on a number of projects for the N2N39 Directorate.  He also served as the Executive Assistant to the U.S. Pacific Fleet Master Chief. 

Master Chief Corey was selected to attend the Air Force Senior NCO Academy in 2011 at Maxwell AFB.  After completion as a Distinguished Graduate, he reported to NIOC Colorado and served as the Operations Department LCPO.  During this tour he earned his Enlisted Information Dominance Warfare Specialist pin and was selected to the Command Senior Chief program.

In 2013, he transferred to LCSRON ONE and LCS Crew 203.  During this tour he delivered and commissioned two ships, USS CORONADO (LCS 4) and USS JACKSON (LCS 6).  In April 2015, he was selected to Master Chief and converted to CMDCM.

He reported to USS CHUNG-HOON (DDG 93) June 2016 and led the command through a maintenance availability with drydock and basic phase workup cycle for an upcoming deployment.  In June 2018, he was assigned to NIOC Hawaii.  He reported to his current assignment, NAVSTA Great Lakes, April 2021.

Command Master Chief Corey completed an Associates and Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Hawaii Pacific University (HPU).  He graduated magna cum laude and was a guest speaker at the HPU graduation ceremony in May 2013.
