Community Housing

Unaccompanied personnel considering off-base housing must first contact the Naval Station (NAVSTA) Newport Housing Service Center (HSC).  The HSC is prepared to assist unaccompanied personnel who are authorized to earn basic allowance for housing (BAH) find a home in the community.

What NAVSTA Newport Housing Can Do For You:

1.  Maintain unaccompanied personnel affordable housing listings (for community and Public-Private Venture (PPV) housing).
2.  Provide roommate assistance.
3.  Review lease agreement.
4.  Mediate disputes with landlords or roommates.

Roommates are a great way to lower expenses.  The HSC skilled staff provides tips, so your house sharing experience will be a pleasant event.

NAVSTA Newport PPV family housing has two options available for unaccompanied personnel.

Option1:
You may rent an unfurnished two or three bedroom home on your own at a fair market price.

Option 2:
You may rent a furnished three bedroom "Single Sailor" roommate home.  The rental rate is charged on a per person basis.

Other Important Information:

Using off-base housing you will be able to utilize BAH. Find current BAH rate.
