Captain Jason Schneider is a native of Chicago, IL. He is a 1995 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He has since earned Master’s degrees from George Washington University and the U.S. Naval War College.
He qualified in submarines as a junior officer aboard USS NARWHAL (SSN 671). He served as the Executive Officer aboard the nuclear powered Deep Sea Vessel “Submarine NR-1” and the USS HELENA (SSN 725). He commanded the USS WASHINGTON (SSN 787), from initial manning through acceptance trials.
Ashore, he served as the Submarine SONAR Sensors Team Lead and Operational Test Director on the staff of Commander, Operational Test and Evaluation Force; as a legislative fellow on the staff of Senator Jack Reed; and as a capability developer at US Joint Forces Command (USJFCOM) and Commander, Submarine Forces Atlantic.
