The Navy Housing Service Center (HSC) will help you find off-base private sector rental housing in a community suitable and affordable within your basic allowance for housing (BAH). The Wallops Island HSC has a wide community housing network available to find your new home, so we are ready to work with you and your family.
Although located in a rural area of Virginia’s Eastern Shore, Wallops Island is not isolated in any way. There are a variety of shopping venues, outdoor activities, grocery stores, chain department stores, medical and dental faculties, restaurants and more within a short driving distance.
Civilian rental properties consist mainly of single family homes and townhouses. Apartment complexes are virtually non-existent in the local area. Rental prices can range from $800 and up depending on your needs and requirements. Typical three-bedroom properties will average around $1000 per month.
The HSC maintains the private sector rental housing information and we have direct access to a variety of rental listings.
The Wallops Island HSC has a presence on Facebook. The page (Navy Family Housing Wallops Island) contains listings and photos of local civilian rental properties, photos and floor plans of existing Navy-owned housing units as well as various information pertaining to housing issues at Wallops Island.
