FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PORT HADLOCK, Wash., - Naval Magazine Indian Island is scheduled to conduct security training exercises on Wednesday, July 10, and Thursday, July 11, 2019.
The exercises will take place in the water near the Ammunition Pier’s port security barrier, as well as outside of the installation’s front gate near Indian Island County Park.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, installation personnel and residents living in the communities surrounding Indian Island could hear loud sirens, see blue flashing lights and notice an increased presence of harbor security boats on the water. Passersby could also observe exercise participants who will be holding signs located at the park across the street from the installation. The exercise on Thursday will additionally include objects floating in the water near the pier.
The Navy routinely conducts these types of security exercises, which ensures readiness and verifies response procedures.
NMII thanks the community for their continued support and understanding.
