FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PORT HADLOCK, Wash., - Naval Magazine Indian Island is scheduled to conduct a security training exercise on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
The exercise will take place in the water outside of the ammunition pier’s port security barrier and outside of the installation’s main gate.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on that day, installation personnel and residents living in the communities surrounding Indian Island could notice the increased presence of harbor security boats in the water, hear loud sirens and see bright blue flashing lights. Additional security personnel will be present around the main gate, and they will be using whistles and loud sirens.
The Navy routinely conducts these types of security exercises, which ensures readiness and verifies response procedures.
NMII thanks the community for their continued support and understanding.
