    Commanding Officer


    Captain Rich Massie has lived the plurality of his adult years in the Pacific Northwest after spending his childhood in the suburbs of both Chicago and Houston. He most recently served as Commander, Submarine Squadron NINETEEN and previously served as Deputy Commander of both Submarine Development Squadron FIVE and Submarine Squadron NINETEEN.

    Executive Officer


    Cmdr. Lance M. Denham is the executive officer, Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton, Wash. As executive officer, he assists the commanding officer in managing, training, and equipping an organization comprised of more than 1,700 military and civilian personnel that supports more than 70 tenant commands and an installation population of 16,200 military personnel, 17,600 civilian employees, 7,500 Defense contract employees, and 34,000 family members within 12,000 acres spread throughout various locations in Washington State, Alaska, Idaho, and British Columbia, Canada. Along with the commanding officer, he is responsible for installation management, facility maintenance and construction, environmental conservation, housing, emergency management, information systems, security and law enforcement, fire and emergency services, safety, food service, lodging, recreational services, fleet and family support, child and youth program management, and port operations.

  • MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER MARK R. SCHLOSSER

    Command Master Chief


    Master Chief Petty Officer Mark R. Schlosser is the Command Master Chief for Naval Base Kitsap, Bremerton, Wash.  He is the primary advisor to the commanding officer on matters concerning the morale, welfare, health, and discipline of more than 600 enlisted men and women.  The base serves as the host command for the Navy’s fleet throughout the Pacific Northwest, providing exceptional installation services, programs, and facilities to meet the needs of its hosted war-fighting commands, tenant activities, and personnel.
