The son of a career naval officer, CAPT Davis considers north Florida home. Enlisting in the navy in 1988, he served in USS Minneapolis-St. Paul (SSN 708) and as an instructor at the Trident Training Facility in King’s Bay Georgia. In 1995, CAPT Davis was selected to the inaugural class of the Seaman to Admiral program and received his commission. His subsequent baccalaureate education was completed at Jacksonville University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with university honors.
As a Division Officer, he served as Communication’s Officer in USS Aubrey Fitch (FFG 34) and Administration, Training and Assistant Operations Officer in USS Thomas S. Gates (CG 51). As a Department Head, CAPT Davis served as Operations Officer in USS O’Bannon (DD 987) and as Executive Officer in USS Devastator (MCM 6). His most recently served at sea, as Commanding Officer in USS RENTZ (FFG 46).
He served ashore in the Strategic Planning and Policy Directorate on the staff of Commander, United States Strategic Command, on the staff of the Commander Fifth Fleet, as the plans liaison to United States Central Command. Prior to reporting as the Commanding Officer of Naval Station Everett, Captain Davis served as the deputy Division Chief for Space and Integrated Air and Missile Defense Division on the staff of Commander, United States Pacific Command.
CAPT Davis is a graduate of the Naval War College and the Naval Operational Planner Course. His personal decorations include numerous awards of the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Commendation Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and other individual, unit and campaign awards.
